Alabama is “absolutely” a threat to flip Wisconsin conscript Darrion Dupree

After a first-place finish in the 2023 national recruiting rankings, Alabama got off to a relatively slow start to 2024. However, they’ve made up a lot of ground in the past few weeks and have managed to do so by taking on several blue-chip corporate recruits, including some from other programs. Finally they turned around Five star security Peyton Woodyard from Georgia.

Their next destination could be Wisconsin, where four-star running back Darrion Dupree from Mount Carmel, Illinois, signed in July.

Accordingly Jon Mcnamara at RivalsAlabama is “absolutely” in danger of ousting Dupree from the Badgers.

“Is Alabama in danger of overthrowing Dupree? Absolutely. The Tide is one of two or three leading programs in college football, and they generally get to choose who they want on the recruiting front. Also, since the beginning of the summer, I think Alabama has been one of the schools that Dupree could soon offer, which is one reason his involvement with the Badgers came a little later than expected.”

While Wisconsin and Alabama are in the club, Dupree (5’7″ tall, 195 pounds) has offers from 30 teams, including Illinois, Cincinnati, Iowa, Michigan and Notre Dame. Rivals ranked Dupree 6th overall in Illinois and No. 4 on his positionbut the other recruiting services all have him way down the running backs.

Wisconsin’s 2024 vintage is currently in the ranking No. 23 in the nationwhile Alabama is at number 4.
