Telkomsel and Semarang-based electric motorcycle manufacturer Volta are collaborating on the Telkomsel Care of the Earth program that prioritizes environmentally friendly ecosystems.
Volta was chosen as a partner because it was considered to have a complete ecosystem. In addition, Volta already supports IoT, and users can monitor electric motors on batteries, on GPS.
Telkomsel and Volta packages
In this collaboration, Telkomsel will introduce the product assembly program with Volta. Every customer and public who buys a Volta Lite electric motorcycle with extra battery will get a data quota package of 1GB/month for 6 months.

This program is in line with the government’s mission to encourage the use of electric motors in order to reduce carbon emissions.
According to the data of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, the use of 900 thousand units of motorcycles in 2025 can reduce fuel consumption by 0.32 million kiloliters / year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 0.61 million tons / year.
Electric motors save more energy and cost
In terms of cost efficiency, electric motors are more cost effective. For example, compared to a 110cc engine, the Volta electric bike costs only 45 thousand for a distance of 150 km. Normally, with a gasoline engine, you need about 60 grams.
The Volta electric bike is supported by a large infrastructure, which is System Battery Change (SGB) stations which are spread in 245 locations throughout Indonesia making it easier for every user to ride without fear of running out of battery.
Moreover, Volta also received incentive support from the government with TKDN reaching 47.36%, people can own affordable Volta electric bikes.
