Known for his artistic eye and penchant for chaos, Jonathan Anderson presented his latest menswear collection for his namesake label, JW Anderson, during Milan Fashion Week in a bigger and bigger way. courageous.
Creative director of his namesake brand and Spain’s Maison Loewe, fashion denizens know that when Anderson’s ideas and creations come to life, they never disappoint. A collection of chunky knits, bright colours, polka dots, sharp cuts and a stylish rugby scarf, each of the 51 looks featured in the collection managed to shine. It’s as if Anderson only had the materials found in a preschool classroom, but he still managed to take it to new heights.
This time, Anderson experimented with new design practices, with 3D elements in his knits and dresses that literally stand out. Although most designs were carefully curated to stand out, you can still find everyday versatility within the absurd.
A mix of long and short sleeves, thick and thin layers, and deep cuts were combined with platform clogs, classic bags and narrow-toe knit shoes. Although Anderson is known for being different, this collection still left us speechless. We should have seen it coming, but we didn’t. Well done Mr. Anderson!
In addition to adding a surreal touch to some pieces, each item is carefully crafted and tailored for everyday wear. After watching all 51 pieces, one thing’s for sure, and that’s that Johnathan Anderson had fun creating the line.
