Florida high school football coach fired over bullying videos

According to a report by Viera, Florida, the head football coach has been fired after a bullying video surfaced on social media Tony Atkins at WESH 2. Several students were also suspended.

Brevard County School Board Chairman Matt Susin released a statement chiding the coach for not observing the incident.

“If our children behaved like this, I would have submitted my resignation within the hour. I would have; I promise you I would have… You can’t have kids in a play or practice situation who just sit around and don’t observe.”

Today (August 11, 2023) at 6:00 p.m. there will be an open student-parent meeting on this topic at school

Viera is expected to play her first game of the 2023 season on Friday night in South Fork, Fla.
