Gradey Dick kicks off the NBA Draft in a Dorothy-inspired suit

Fans around the NBA love draft night because of the chaos that can ensue with trades and superstars being sent to different countries.

But a trend that dates back to before the athletes being drafted were born, has been players showing up to the stadium in an outfit that would make themselves stand out.

Some of the best – or worst, whichever camp you’re in – costumes throughout history include It was in 2019 rocking a Spider Man suit, Fish Walker in 1996 sporting a cream suit with a cream hat or even Drew Gooden in 2005 OR Amar’e Stoudemire in 2002.

Kansas star and projected first-round pick Gradey Dick set the tone for Thursday night, showing up in the brightest red suit imaginable.

“I’m from Kansas, Dorothy has her little slippers and I have my Dorothy costume.” Dick said on the NBA’s Twitter account.

The draft hopeful sported a pair of rectangular sunglasses, a new “GD” chain that is his brand’s logo, and black shoes with red bottoms.

“A little subtle, though,” said Dick.

Potential top-three pick Scoot Henderson donned an all-black suit with silver patterns and multi-colored gemstones.

He also wore a grill on his lower teeth with yellow, blue, red and green colored gems on his teeth.

What are some of your favorites or least favorites over the years of drafting and where does Dick rank among them?
