How Harris Tweed Wove Scottish History Into Dior Resort 2025

Harris Tweed, the group behind the fabric highlighted throughout Dior’s recent show, is open about the dedication and care that it takes to create their fabric. The tweed is a beautiful collaboration between many different laborers, and the wool itself is exclusively British-farmed, some of it originating from the island of Lewis and Harris where sheep farming has long been a staple.

After being collected, the wool is fiber dyed and blended to create yarn, which then goes through a special strengthening process before being sent to local weavers. These Scottish craftsmen follow pattern cards to create the iconic Harris Tweed material. Finally, the fabric is inspected and authenticated by the Harris Tweed Authority.
