From the fourteen pickleball courts that took over Central Park earlier this year to a number of clothing drops centered around the modality, it’s hard to not get sucked into the mega-craze. We all know the basic tenets of tennis fashion—preppy polo shirts, crisp white skirts and chic crew sock-sneaker combos. This aesthetic lives at the intersection of coastal grandma and New England prep, and carries itself with all the undeniable charms of quiet luxury. Tennis-core is sporty, yet stylish, vintage but versatile. But to some, the overly-manicured, crisp white aesthetic of the tennis court doesn’t fulfill all of their wildest athleisure dreams.
