Many of the world’s most prominent designers debuted their first collections at this prestigious event.
Marc Jacobs’ debut Spring/Summer 1987 collection drew attention for its grunge-inspired and avant-garde designs emblematic of the era’s punk rock decadence. He incorporated elements such as oversized silhouettes, layers and unusual fabric combinations, embracing a rebellious and non-conformist spirit that challenged traditional fashion norms at the time.
