While some schools can afford it Multi-million dollar stadiumsFor many high school football programs, gear doesn’t come cheap — especially helmets, which typically cost between $300 and $400 apiece.
For example, the Overton, Tenn., college football team faced a helmet shortage early in the 2023 season. However, the Tennessee Titans managed an assist as part of their Football Developmental Grant program.
Accordingly the TennesseanCoach Arcentae Broome said the Bobcats received a $2,500 gift from the Titans.
“My price for 10 helmets was about $3,300, so we only had to spend about $800 for what the Titans gave us…The Titans have always been there for high school football, no matter what it allowed us to go to their supply center and get them shoes that were lightly worn, or gloves, or pants, or with an allowance like this.”
Overton is now ready for the start of the season. They will visit Father Ryan (Tenn.) in their first game on Friday, August 18th.
As for the titans Their 2023 regular season begins on Sunday, September 10, away against the New Orleans Saints.
