Attempts to blend thrills and suspense, but it neither surprises nor engages… The plot had potential, but clichés and predictable twists spoil the show… JanhviKapoor and GulshanDevaiah’s performances stand out in this otherwise uninteresting narrative.

On the whole, Ulajh is too confusing and class-appealing to appeal to the average cinema goer. It may hold interest for a select audience but that just won’t be enough.

I went in looking forward to Ulajh: what could be better than a film headlined by a hard-working New Gen actor who finally seemed to have got a role matching her intelligence, with support from a solid, diverse cast. Sadly, this spy thriller, set mostly in the chilly environs of London, turned out to be a damp squib.

Ulajh stands out with its unique approach and treatment conveying the message of how bureaucrats, diplomats and IFS officers are unsung heroes, who control and prevent critical situations, which can lead to war between the countries. On the whole, Ulajh is one of those spy-thrillers, which deserves a watch for its story-telling and star performances.

While the approach was unusual compared to recent patriotic films, it did not reach its full potential.Bottom line: Ulajh tries its best to keep you on the edge. However, the story lacks the punch. Watch the film only for the impressive cast.

Pace slackens at times and there are a few loose ends. As a spy-thriller ‘Ulajh’ is gripping in parts and a tad flat in others. While the film’s narrative could certainly be crisper and the length tighter, ultimately, it lands safely. It turns out to be an inspiring tale elevated by top-notch performances from the lead cast. Buckle up for this flight!

Unlike Raazi, Ulajh has a confused plot, a questionable lead character, and unengaging secondary characters. The cast includes Rajesh Tailang as Suhana’s overly solicitous driver, Rajendra Gupta as the Foreign Minister, Jaimini Pathak as the R&AW boss Sanjeev, and Jitendra Joshi as Sanjeev’s deputy.
